Come and join us for the annual Howick  Church Garden Party held in Lady Howick’s private garden at Howick Hall. Garden Visitors Welcome – but normal garden entry fees apply. There will be a champagne and strawberries bar, a raffle, cake stall with local produce, tombola and croquet on the croquet lawn.

All proceeds will go St. Michael and All Angels Church at Howick.

With the help of funding from the National Garden Scheme (NGS) the North Northumberland Branch of the National Autistic Society (NNBNAS) will be opening a brand new sensory garden at Howick on Sunday 10th June 2018.

The sensory garden will be a new addition to the main garden attraction, featuring a special selection of plants and materials laid out in such a way as to stimulate the senses of sight, sound, smell touch and taste. Just a few of the highlights will include a labrynth circle, interactive water feature, willow dome circle, tumbled glass pond with wooden bridge and a wooden swing seat. The aim of the sensory garden is to provide both children and adults with autism a safe and stimulating environment to explore their senses.

This unique garden has been designed by professional garden designer Natasha McEwen. She has worked with various professionals and volunteers to create the garden as a self-contained space to blend into the natural setting of Howick Hall Gardens.  Located between Edinburgh in the north and Hexham in the south west, the new sensory garden at Howick will be a flagship sensory garden in Northumberland for people with autism and other disabilities.

There is no additional fee to visit the sensory garden, standard entrance fees to Howick Hall Gardens will apply. Howick Hall Gardens are open daily from 10.30 to 6pm (last entry 5pm).
